The Cheesecake Factory is a US based chain of restaurants with over 200 locations in the United States. The restaurant’s history goes back to the late 1940s when Evelyn Overton opened a small bakery specializing in cheesecake, in Detroit in 1949. Evelyn’s son went on to open a California branch in the 1970s, specializing in almost a dozen types of cheesecake, and the chain grew during the next 30 years.
Despite its name, the Cheesecake Factory menu features an almost bewildering choice of meals; in fact, it is one of the most extensive menus of any national restaurant chain. The chain features a wide choice of burgers and sandwiches, as well as a range of pasta dishes, such as spicy chicken chipotle pasta and Cajun jambalaya pasta, as well as more common pasta dishes such as fettuccini alfredo and spaghetti and meatballs. The beer and wine list are both extensive, and there is no shortage of dishes suitable for vegetarians or those with food allergies.
Although prices at the Cheesecake Factory can vary based on location, a meal out for two typically costs around $40 to $60, including an appetizer and drinks or dessert. Burgers cost from between about $11 and $15, while main course dishes cost between about $14 and $20, although if you order the filet mignon from the Cheesecake Factory menu, you can expect to pay at least $30.
The menu at the Cheesecake Factory also features plenty of chicken and steak dishes including a grilled pork chop, steak Diane and a chargrilled bone-in New York steak. Fish and seafood dishes on the menu include British style fish and chips, fresh grilled salmon and a southern fried catfish.
